Canine Core Vaccines:

  • DA2Pv (Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2, and Parvo Virus)
  • Rabies
    • Legally required
    • For more information on Rabies please visit rabiesaware.org.

Canine Non Core Vaccines:

  • Bordetella (Kennel Cough) Intranasal or Oral option available
  • Influenza (Bivalent H3N2/H3N8 combo currently administered our practice)
  • Leptospirosis (We use a 4-waySevor in our practice)
  • Lyme

Although there are only 2 core vaccines in the AAHA's guidelines, we strongly recommend implementing non core vaccines as well. Your dogs vaccine schedule can be customized to their exposure risk and life style. When your dog first starts getting vaccinations our doctors may recommend separating some of the vaccines.

Canine Heartworm

We use Idexx's snap 4DX Plus in clinic which tests for:
  • Heartworm Antigen
  • Anaplasmosis Antibodies
  • Lyme Antibodies
  • Ehrlichiosis Antibodies

Heartworm is transmitted through mosquitos. It can take up to 6 months for your dog to show up positive on a heartworm test.  We follow the guidelines of the American Heartworm Association for testing and preventatives. However, for dogs that have come from the south, we recommend rechecking a heartworm test 6 months from the last negative test, then annually.  For more information on Heartworm disease please visit heartwormsociety.org.

Non Core Feline Vaccines:

  • Feline Leukemia
There are other non core vaccines available, however, we do not offer them at our practice.

Feline Heartworm

Cats are not the preferred host for heartworm, however, they can still become infected from mosquitoes. There is no treatment or testing available at this time for cats. If you are concerned about your cats risk, please contact us. We have heartworm preventative available in clinic or you can order it through our online store.
